Economics: How much for a pack?

Last time I spoke to a smoker, a pack of reasonably good cigarettees is about RM10 per pack. So for about 30 sessions of 5 minutes worth of what is percieved to be pleasure is RM10. When we look at all the bad things that come from smoking, I really can't believe that anyone with the ability to thik logically can make a choice to smoke.

Smokers will argue that they just have to -its not an addiction. The truth is that they are as addicted to smoking as drug addicts are to drugs. I find it amusing that a father who smokes can say anything to anyone of his children or his wife about not spending money wisely if he smokes. You would have to lead by example to do that. Burning away money on a regular basis is not a good example.Think about it.

For a mild smoker who goes through 2 packs of cigarettes a week, that means burning away RM80 a month. The last time I booked a "Economy Promo" Air Asia flight ticket, I flew for RM140 return (including airport taxes) to Kota Kinabalu in Sabah. So the smoker could afford to travel and see so much if he made wiser choices about pending his or her money.

Conclusion: Smokers are'nt too smart about managing their money, and those who have money pouring out of their ears, are obviously unaware or do not care about the example they set to the impressionable people around them, including their own children. Smoke has clouded their thoughts.
